Mar. 3: The process of installing the in-floor heating has begun, and should complete this week. Long tubes made of recycled PVC are "stapled" to the sub-floor and through a series of manifolds and valves, attached to a boiler that lives in the mechanical room. The main floor is divided into four zones that can be heated independently (or not) and controlled by the home automation system. Once all the pipes are down, a layer of concrete will be poured and leveled - readied for the wood floor installation. Upstairs we will utilize baseboard heaters and small gas fireplaces to heat the spaces.
